Laurencekirk Artists Society have donated £200 to support a foodbank in Laurencekirk. The donation was made through Mearns & Coastal Healthy Living Network, the organisation which has acted as the 'hub' for various forms of support within the local community during the Covid emergency.
Mearns Community Food Larder is organised and run by local volunteers Carol Grant and Shelagh Richardson who is a director of The Venue where the Food Bank is based. In recognising the contribution made by Laurencekirk Artists, Shelagh pointed to the continuing need for this service and commented: 'the Society's donation will go a long way in helping those members of our community who are struggling at the moment'.
Laurencekirk Artists Society is committed to raising funds to support local community organisations and events.
